Every April for the past seven years I have filed an extension on my annual tax return, which allows me to sit down with my accountant for a nice long visit in summer. Even though some years have been more stressful than others (think 2009, recession panic), I have come to love this annual tradition. He always offers the right balance of encouragement and straight-talk express when it comes to my finances, and I really value his advice and feedback. On my visit this year I brought him some long-promised business cards.
