tag sale

I usually save a lot of scrap when I cut down larger sheets of Savoy paper (my in-house stock) for fun little projects like this.  Last week I printed about a million little gift tags.  I’m going to sell these at the Martha sale, and have them in my online shop in the next few days.

My sister and I are ACTUALLY thinking about going to Macy’s on Black Friday.  Anyone else crazy enough?

This week I’m working on a number of different projects.  In addition to extra pieces for this lovely March wedding, I’m printing announcements, some personal stationery and a bunch of holiday stuff.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to sell at the Brooklyn Flea Gifted Market this holiday season since I have a conflict with the dates, but I will be selling at the Martha Stewart Holiday Craft Sale on December 4th.  I did this sale last year and it was my favorite event of the entire year.  I hope to see you there!

One of the greatest traditions my family has is “early Thanksgiving”.  About 15 years ago we started celebrating Thanksgiving two weeks early because our family is huge and we could never get the whole gang together on the real holiday.  Its SO fun, and it always makes me excited for Thanksgiving #2 and Christmas.

I just crawled home from this year’s feast, to which I brought four pies – three pumpkins and a blueberry cobbler (there were 30 of us this year).  Somewhere in a parallel life I work in a bakery.

PS:  Voting for the top three coaster cities is still going on over at CraftyPod!

Moontree coasters 3

I have a surprise contest to announce!  I’m really lucky to be teaming up with the supremely awesome Diane at CraftyPod.  CraftyPod is an amazing website that features podcasts, video how-to’s and endless articles about how to improve your craft business (among other things).  I read it regularly and if you’re running your own handmade business you should too.

My NYC neighborhood coasters have been a hit in these parts, and today I’m looking for feedback on what neighborhoods might work for other cities.  If you’d like to nominate your city, head on over to CraftyPod and VOTE!  You’re eligible to win a pack of your choice if you enter.   I’ll add three new cities in time for the holidays (think stocking stuffers!).

gayle howl

This picture makes me laugh so hard. Last week was Gayle’s 2nd birthday so she got some special treats and a lot of extra play time.  At one point we were playing fetch in the yard and she just let out a random howl of joy.  :)

I can’t believe how fast the cold weather has rushed in.  The leaves still have a last flicker of color, but yesterday I put in the storm windows and unpacked my warm clothes…so winter is right at the doorstep.  And the holiday season has certainly begun – I’m just starting to get custom holiday orders and have listed seasonal items in my online shop.  I’m also developing a small letterpress ornament collection, pictured above (what do you think?  still figuring it out…)

I have a semi-good reason for being so behind on the blog, with a number of projects happening simultaneously in the past few weeks.  I’ll share a little more about them over the next week, promise!
